The buyer's plant must approve the connector, hose, regulator and supply capacity for its own conditions. Shift demand, simultaneous tools, hose length, elevation, maintenance standard and local rules can change the correct arrangement. The trial result should name the model and fitting. “CN-series passed” is too broad when two different inlet sizes and two pressure groups are present.
Keep Pressure Numbers in Their Proper Role
CN55 through CN80B share the listed 85–120 PSI range. CN90 and CN100B share 115–145 PSI. These values help the buyer distinguish the groups and prepare a competent site review.
They provide no proof of air consumption per shot, required free-air delivery, maximum hose length or safe regulator setting for every duty cycle. Ask for current model documentation and let the plant's qualified air-system owner size the supply. If an expected value is absent from the quotation, keep it open rather than estimating from another tool.

Receiving and Change-Control Checks
At receiving, inspect the model, inlet and supplied accessories before releasing the carton to production. If the purchase order calls for CN90 with a 3/8-inch NPT inlet and the tool or paperwork shows something else, record the discrepancy and hold it for review.
For reorders, compare the current acknowledgment with the approved sample record. A supplier-approved model substitution is still a change if the inlet, pressure range, fastener window, weight or magazine capacity differs. Update the fitting list and workstation documentation before the substitute reaches the line.

FAQ
Can a 3/8-inch fitting be reduced to a 1/4-inch inlet?
A physical adapter may exist, but its suitability cannot be assumed. Thread form, connector standard, flow, tool operating requirements and the site's pneumatic rules must be reviewed by the responsible technical person. An improvised adapter is not a purchasing substitute for an approved connection.
Does a 3/8-inch inlet mean the tool is always more powerful?
No universal conclusion should be drawn from the inlet alone. In this specific range, CN90 and CN100B are the larger listed nail-length models and have a different pressure group, but tool selection still depends on the full model data and the real joint.
Is NPT the same as every tapered pipe thread?
