A disciplined handover decides whether the coil remains in the tool, returns to controlled storage, moves into an identified temporary container, or is segregated because its identity or condition is uncertain.<\/p>\n

Define the Shift Stop Condition<\/h2>\n

Record whether production stopped because the job completed, the shift ended, the line changed product, the tool developed a problem, the coil was damaged, or material ran short. The reason determines the disposition. A healthy partial coil from a planned pause is different from a coil removed after repeated jams or a dropped tool.<\/p>\n

Identify the work order, line, nailer, operator, time, current fastener specification, carton and lot, and approximate coil status. Exact nail counting is rarely practical at the tool, so use an agreed status such as full, partial above half, partial below half, or another visible method used by the operation. Clear the Tool Under the Approved Procedure<\/h2>\n

Decide Whether the Partial Coil Can Return<\/h2>\n

Return to production depends on confirmed identity, acceptable condition, compatible tool, current work order, storage history, and the site's quality rules. Use a brief first-load observation where appropriate and watch feed behavior and driven results.
